WOW

This is a local case before the courts that I have been following in the news. Yesterday a bombshell was dropped in court, check it out...

"The boyfriend of a woman on trial for the second-degree murder of her daughter testified in court yesterday that he is the one responsible for the little girl's death.
The boyfriend admitted in open court to beating to death the 34-month-old girl, but only after he was granted Section Five protection under the Criminal Justice Act, which means anything incriminating he says at the trial cannot be used against him in future criminal trials.
When asked who is responsible for the little girl's death, the boyfriend said, "I am." ...
...At one point, court guards filled the court room and it appeared they were going to arrest the boyfriend before they left...
...Because of Section Five protection, police need to perform an independent investigation without the boyfriends testimony to make an arrest...
...The Crown is continuing with the prosecution of the baby's mother as being responsible for the baby's death. "

Wow, this guys says he did it, but because someone else is being tried for the crime that he now say he committed, his own testimony admitting guilt can not be used against him.
The wheels of justice at work ... unbelievable.
