Am I Hip?

I got a new App for my iPhone the other day called Hipstamatic, which is a camera that takes pictures with an aged, Instamatic Polaroid type look. It says it can transform a boring shot into a picture that pops. I decided to try it out and bought it for a $1.99 on iTunes. It has various lens, flashes and film to choose from which give you a variety of cool effects. I have been playing around with it a little bit and am pretty happy with the results. For a crappy little camera phone, this App really does makes your pictures pop.
Here are some shots I took using Hipstamatic, check it out...
Pretty hip for 2 bucks.

A Dogs Life

Do your pets like to watch TV?
I'm not sure if yours does, but mine sure do.
My oldest dog, Hobbes, will go crazy any time he sees an animal on TV. He can be lying on the couch or in front of the TV and as soon as an animal comes on the screen he will sit up and pay attention. That is quickly followed by him barking at the screen and going nuts until I change the channel. Watching shows with horses in it is next to impossible. It really can be quite annoying. He even has a favorite show, Zoboomafoo, which is a children's show with a puppet Lemur as a host. It doesn't matter where he is in the house, if he hears the show's theme music he will come running.
I had thought my other dog Calvin, thankfully, wasn't much of a TV watcher. I had thought wrong.
The other day a commercial came on with someone working in the kitchen carving a turkey. Calvin rolled over and actually started to watch the commercial and his mouth started to water a little. At first I just brushed it off as a coincidence, but I started to watch him when images of food came on the TV, just to make sure I hadn't been seeing things. And wouldn't you know it, my other dog watches TV too, only he doesn't care about other animals, all he cares about is when there is images of food on the screen. My other dog, Calvin, is a foodie.
Or may be I just have way too much time on my hands....

The Day After The Storm That Wasn't

Although we can't really call it the storm of the century, it did snow in Toronto on Wednesday. For most people living in the city it was just another day with snow. We used to call it winter, now its a major news event every time it snows. It really wasn't worth posting any pictures of the storm, it was stuff we have all seen a thousand times.
The storm did have some impact down along the beach though and it did look pretty cool,
Check it out. Here are some before and after shots to give you a better perspective.

Thanks to my buddy Jim, for bringing this very important story to my attention. I urge every Torontonian to watch this.
