Say it ain't so! Or maybe that should be say it ain't snow!
We wish we could, but after a record breaking one-day February snow event that saw 30 centimetres of heavy, wet flakes on the ground comes the news that more of it is on the way. Not that it will be anything like what we experienced on Wednesday. But if you're like most homeowners, you've already run out of places to put it all. While a few mostly harmless flurries fell on Friday, between 2-5 centimetres more could be coming your way on Saturday. Because temperatures will be hovering around the freezing mark, there's a possibility it could be mixed with rain or freezing rain, making it even heavier to clear out.
But it's Tuesday that has forecasters looking toward - and possibly dreading - the future. Another major disturbance is on track to hit us that day and while it's too soon to say how much snow it may be packing, early guesses suggest as much as 5-10 centimetres are possible.Environment Canada says we've received 128 centimetres of the unwanted powder so far this winter, as much as the last two years combined. And there's a long way to go yet.
How bad was last week's storm?
Consider this: the 30 centimetres that fell in some areas over a 24-hour period ended the biggest one-day February snowstorm in three decades!
But there is a bright...
...it could of been ice.
