Forsythe Championship Racing owner Jerry Forsythe and RuSport owner Dan Pettit announced today that they will combine operations and run under the banner of Forsythe/Pettit Racing beginning with the 2008 season.

Forsythe Racing is one of the most successful teams in the history of Champ Car having amassed 32 wins, 34 poles and one championship in 16 years of competition.

Two of the teams in Champ Car – Forsythe Racing and RuSport – have teamed up for the '08 season. No word on whether there will be three cars or two (Forsythe ran two last year, RuSport one).
Gerald Forsythe is one of the owners of the series. So is the owner of RuSport, Dan Pettit. (You know, if the owners of this series didn't also own cars, there wouldn't be many, would there?) In any event, the new team will be called Forsythe/Pettit Racing.
I imagine that Paul Tracy will be one of the drivers, although there was no mention of him, or Justin Wilson (who drove for RuSport last year), in the press release.
This, to be frank, is very strange.
