A story in Today's Toronto Sun claimed that many Canadians lacked the basic knowledge of Canadian history and it's political system to form an informed opinion about what transpired.
To prove their point the Dominion Institute came up with these four questions
- Who is the head of state?
- How can Canada's system of government best be described?
- Do Canadians elect the prime minister directly?
- Can the governor general nix a PM's request for a new election?
- and the bonus question ... What does "prorogue" mean?
I personally think that Canadians are smarter then the Dominion Institute gave us credit for. I got all of these questions correct. See how well you do. Answers, tomorrow.
