Figure Skating Bronze

After a heart wrenching performance on Tuesday in the short program, Joannie Rochette managed to put together another stellar performance on Thursday in her free skate to capture bronze for Canada. Rochette's mother who was at the games to watch her compete, died suddenly of a heart attack four days ago. Instead of withdrawing from competition, Rochette decided to stay and skate in honour of her mom. What an amazing performance.
This was also Canada's first medal in Olympic figure skating since 1988.
This brings Canada's medal total to 8 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze.
Way to go Canada!
