From coast to coast to coast, our athletes came together in Vancouver to do battle with the best in the world at the 21st Winter Olympics Games and they did us proud.Thank you.
A look at life, through the eyes of a 40-something male, living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Canada has just won gold in the final event of the Winter Games --men's hockey!
Canada's 13 gold medals at the Winter Games ties the events all-time record, which was set by the Soviet Union at the 1976 Innsbruck games and matched by Norway in 2002.
It's still raining gold. Canada's Kevin Martin has won another gold for Canada in men's Olympic curling, beating Norway by a score of 6-3 in the 10th end.
What a night!
What a finish!
What the hell?!?
Oh well, on the bright side, we are one month closer to April and the start of bike season.
Hope you have a great day!
After a heart wrenching performance on Tuesday in the short program, Joannie Rochette managed to put together another stellar performance on Thursday in her free skate to capture bronze for Canada. Rochette's mother who was at the games to watch her compete, died suddenly of a heart attack four days ago. Instead of withdrawing from competition, Rochette decided to stay and skate in honour of her mom. What an amazing performance.
Some how I missed this yesterday. Canada's woman's short track speed skating team won silver in yesterdays 3000 metre race at the Pacific Coliseum. Canada originally won bronze but was bumped up to silver when the winning team of South Korean team was disqualified for bumping the Chinese team. This gave gold to China, silver to Canada and bronze to the U.S.
Talk about owning the podium! Canada added to the medal count with a gold and a silver in woman's bobsleigh at the Whistler sliding centre. Heather Moyse and Kaillie Humphries won gold and Helen Upperton and Shelly-Ann Brown won silver.
Whistler's own Ashleigh McIvor won the gold medal in the ladies' ski cross final today at Cypress Mountain.
Kristina Groves became Canada's first double medal winner at these Winter Olympic Games by winning silver in the ladies 1,500 metre Speed Skating event yesterday. Kristina also won bronze in the 3000 metre event.
Marianne St-Gelais, who turned 20 today, won silver for Canada in the woman's 500m short track final. Hows that for a birthday gift!
All this 24 7 Olympic coverage is starting to make me go blind, time to take a break from all this wall to wall coverage and see what else is going on in the world...
Vancouver's own Maelle Ricker has captured Canada's second gold medal at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, winning in ladies' snowboard cross at Cypress Mountain.
Alexandre Bilodeau won Canada's first ever gold on home soil tonight, after a near-perfect run in the men's moguls final.
Canadian Kristina Groves wins bronze in the 3000m Long Track Speed Skating.
Here are some amazing shots from the opening ceremony on Friday, enjoy.

On Twitter this morning...

Now here is the bid from DeltaWing Racing, which was unveiled yesterday at the Chicago Auto Show.
Are you serious?
Captain Phil Harris, fisherman in charge of the Cornelia Marie on the popular Discovery Channel show "Deadliest Catch," passes away late yesterday nearly two weeks after suffering a stroke on Jan. 29.
I had a full house, literally!

At one point I was the one to beat, but that didn't last for long.
In the end, Tony stood victorious with the most money won.
Barry came in second.
..and I came in third.
Everyone else went home empty handed. Better luck next time.
