Euro Trip Day 6: Rome, Italy

What can I say about Rome that hasn't already been said before. Rome is ridiculous.
It has so much history it is overwhelming.
We did what anyone else would do if they only had a couple of days. We hit the tourist highlights,
starting with the Coliseum,
and then the roman ruins,
followed by the Trevi fountain,
the pantheon,
and the Spanish steps.
That was a lot of walking that day!

Euro Trip Day 5: Venice and Florence, Italy

Day 5 started out in Venice, with a tour of the royal palace, which just happened to be a short walk from our hotel room.
And then it was supposed to be onto Rome, a distance of 544 kms.
But along the way, we realized that we were travelling through the famed region of Tuscany
and that we would be passing right by Florence, Italy. So naturally we added Florence to our
itinerary and we decided to stop and check it out for ourselves.
And imagine our surprise when we realized that this was the home to Michelangelo's statue of David. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take any pictures of the actual statute while we were in the museum, but we were lucky enough to stumble upon the exact copy which was standing in the square where it had originally stood before being moved to the museum.
