Beaches Jazzfest

On Friday night we went down to the Beaches Jazzfest to check it out. Although its only two minutes down the road, we had not been in almost 10 years.
There were tons of people ...

... lots of food vendors ...

... and a great selection of bands playing anything from jazz ...

... to funkadelic house ...

... to rock and roll ...

... and even some Blues ...

I never knew Mr. Spock from Star Trek was such a jazz fan.

This dog however, did NOT appear to be a jazz fan.

Its changed a lot since the last time we've been, and I have to say I was very impressed by how grown up it feels now. It has more of an international flavour to it, instead of a neighbourhood festival. I liked it.

We a great time strolling down Queen street listening to the music and taking it all in. If you haven't been in a while, you should go, I bet you will be as surprised as I was.

Rock The Park 9

Due to my work schedule I was only able to attend the first night of Rock the Park this year. Thursday nights show consisted of Monster Truck, I Mother Earth, Bush and Slash. It was an awesome line up and as usual did not disappoint.

And what would Rock the Park be without a little rain. Thanks to Velda, this year we were prepared with ponchos.

I loved these guys when they were huge back in 1995. It may of taken 17 years, but I can finally say I saw Bush live.

Totally worth the wait.
And Slash closed the show.

Another awesome Rock the Park!
I'm sorry I couldn't stick around for the rest of it, but thankfully, there is always next year.

A Play Date With Piper

Our neighbours asked us to look after their dog on Monday and we were only too happy to oblige. Piper, who is a West Highland White Terrier, or more commonly known as a Westie, also turned one on Monday as well. So you can imagine how much fun it was to have a puppy running around the house again and generally causing mayhem and terror and of course annoying my dogs.
Funny enough, he seemed to idolize Hobbes and just want to annoy Calvin to no end.

Piper giving Calvin the run around.

Calvin has had enough and begs for help.

In the end though, Calvin and Hobbes made sure Piper had a great time running around and playing in the backyard and sent him home tired and happy.
